Ukrainian developer creates free Telegram bot for personalized air threat alerts

The idea for the project arose from the need to make alarm monitoring more precise and less tiring for residents of frontline areas and the relative rear. The engineer has been working on the tool for the past six months, and has now brought it to a fully functional state and is providing access pro bono, i.e. free of charge.

"Frontline territories, cities like mine, and those who just want to sleep more peacefully — all of this with you in mind. Now everything works autonomously: you log into the bot, choose a channel, describe when to notify about danger — and that's it," notes Vlad Pryadko.

How the bot works:

• the user independently indicates the locations of interest to him and text criteria, according to which the bot calculates the threat for these places;

• For critical situations, the bot has an integrated mobile phone call function so that the user does not miss the approaching danger.

• The system provides a general map of current threats across Ukraine, where you can immediately edit your own settings.

The author emphasizes that the bot's effectiveness directly depends on the clarity of the instructions given by the user, because the text analysis is performed by an algorithm that requires specific descriptions of locations and threats. So "write about the threat" is not enough.
