On the evening of June 21, the Telegram channel of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sabyanin contained calls that the Russian capital would burn, as well as references to raising funds for drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This was reported by Russian media, which noticed unusual activity on the official’s resource. This is the channel «Sergey Sobyanin. Personal Blog», which has almost 40,000 subscribers. This is one of the two platforms of the Moscow mayor on Telegram (the other, official channel has over 350,000 readers).
It is noted that the hackers published a series of posts with warnings «MOSCOW WILL FIRE.» Among other things, the attackers left details and links to a fundraising campaign for drones for the Ukrainian military from the Sternenko Community charitable foundation.
Shortly after the incident, administrators closed access to the Telegram channel, but copies of the posts and the history of changes were preserved in the archive version of the analytical service TgStat. By the morning of June 22, control over the resource was restored: atypical posts were deleted, and the last available post was Sabyanin’s post from June 17.
Earlier, Ukrainian cyber specialists from the 256th Cyber Assault Division and the Ukrainian Militant analytical group conducted a large-scale operation, the result of which was access to the internal data of the Russian analogue of Starlink — the Gonets satellite system. During 2023–2025, hackers systematically downloaded closed documentation and correspondence of the company’s management, transferring the data to the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
