According to the court verdict, in May 2026, a man ordered a narcotic drug for his own use through the Telegram bot «Philip Morris». Two days later, he received the package through a «Nova Poshta» post office in Korosten.
According to the case materials, the accused has a higher education, works as a tester at Check-Box LLC, is a person with a disability of group III and has not previously been held criminally liable.
After receiving the shipment, the man was stopped by police officers. During the document check, he himself told law enforcement officers that he had a narcotic substance with him.
Later, during an inspection of the scene near Victory Park in Korosten, he voluntarily handed over a plastic bag containing a substance of plant origin. An examination determined that it was cannabis weighing 8.498 grams.
During the pre-trial investigation, the accused fully admitted his guilt, did not dispute the established circumstances, and agreed to have the case considered in a summary proceeding without a court hearing.
The court found the man guilty under Part 1 of Article 309 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal acquisition and storage of narcotic drugs without the purpose of sale).
In addition to the fine of UAH 17,000, the court also fined him UAH 2,406.80 for the costs of conducting examinations. The court ordered the seized cannabis to be destroyed.
