The Defense Procurement Agency has announced a tender for the purchase of ground robotic complexes according to the characteristics specified by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine for the first time. Manufacturers who have at least one codified product in this category are invited to participate.
The Defense Procurement Agency has announced a tender for the purchase of ground robotic complexes according to the characteristics specified by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine for the first time. Manufacturers who have at least one codified product in this category are invited to participate.
The press service of the defense ministry reported on the new procurement procedure. The state plans to purchase two types of ground drones: logistical (for evacuating the wounded and transporting cargo) and strike (for striking targets). All complexes must be adapted to rough terrain and provide reliable control with video transmission.
The procurement will be conducted in a closed format for security reasons, but according to a competitive procedure. The complexes were divided into classes depending on the operating range and load capacity. Each class includes 4–5 lots.
"The tender will be held according to a system that has already proven its effectiveness. One manufacturer will be able to receive no more than half of the order within one class. This approach will allow attracting multiple suppliers, expanding competition, and minimizing the risks of supply disruptions," explained Deputy Minister of Defense Mstislav Banik.
The official emphasized that robotic platforms have become indispensable at the front, as they allow tasks to be performed without undue risk to the lives of military personnel.
