At the end of this month, on June 30, a new 2D game called "The Legend of Little Tokmachka" will be released.
According to the game's description , the events unfold around an unnamed border village, where a siege has lasted so long that it has become a myth. The game's world is positioned as gloomy, industrial and absurd, with a touch of black humor. The authors note that the project tells "about a strange mythology of endurance - about how a small defensive post can become larger than life itself."
The gameplay is built around building a base from individual blocks. Players will be able to create a fortress according to their own design: from compact and armored to chaotic and multi-layered. The defensive structure is not static - it is a growing structure that can be expanded upwards by adding walls, support modules, power systems and radar equipment.
A wide arsenal of weapons is provided to protect against enemy drones, aircraft, artillery, missiles and assault groups. Players will be able to install machine guns, cannons, air defense systems, lasers and missile platforms. Between waves of attacks, the intensity of which is constantly increasing, it is necessary to manage resources, experience and finances: repair damaged areas and upgrade key weapons.
Mala Tokmachka is a real village in Zaporizhia Oblast that found itself on the front line and was the epicenter of heavy fighting during the repulse of the Russian invasion. Despite the fact that the game description calls the battlefield “nameless” and the developers note that the plot “does not say who is right and who is wrong,” the project’s name and atmosphere of survival are a direct allusion to the events of the war in Ukraine and the resilience of the Ukrainian defenders.
