Deputy Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Major General Vadym Skibitsky, in an interview with Suspilne, announced the figure of 79,000 Shahed UAVs, which the Russians plan to produce by the end of this year.
These figures include: 40,000 units of Geranium-2, 5,700 units of Harpy-1, and about 34,000 units of Gerber drones and other cheaper UAVs.
"The Russians are trying to completely import-substitute all the components used in UAVs. Today they have their own internal combustion engine, their own navigation system. They have some dependence on chips and microelectronics, but everything else is Russian-made," Skibitsky said.
According to the Defence Express portal, if we take the figure announced by the Ministry of Defense and calculate last year's figures, then in the coming months the Russian Federation should produce an average of 130-140 drones in the fall and 160-170 in the winter. Thus, the experts of the publication conclude that the enemy will not be able to use 1,000 drones every day.
The major general confirmed the involvement of foreign students in factories producing kamikaze drones. In his opinion, in this way the Russian Federation creates a propaganda image that it has partners who support the aggressor country at the international level.
A few weeks ago, the president reported on “dozens of UAVs shot down by interceptor drones.” Dev.ua reported on what kind of hunter drones can hunt “shaheeds” in this article .
