According to Brovdy, from a military point of view, he does not yet see the prerequisites for ending the war, even if an agreement is reached to suspend hostilities. Among the reasons, he cites Russia's resource and mobilization advantage and Ukraine's limited mobilization potential. Therefore, Magyar calls the preservation of the Ukrainian military the first priority.
The second is to increase firepower directly at the front. "Magyar" expects Russia to transfer more manpower there. However, according to him, large tank or other mechanized assaults are "not in principle" at the moment.
The increase in the number of Russian infantry SBS, according to the commander, is already visible. In the first half of September, the number of enemy personnel destroyed by SBS units was approximately 25% higher than in the same period in August. Brody attributes this, in particular, to covert mobilization in Russia.
The third priority is to ensure the passage of Ukrainian assets deep into Russian territory.
“In order for deep strikes to work, middle strikes have to work. Middle strikes are the ones that provide the passage channel,” Brody explained.
However, long-range operations are only a small part of the SBS's work. According to Brody, about 95% of his group's efforts are focused on the tactical level of the front and only 5% on strikes in operational and strategic depth.
All of these tasks, the commander added, should ultimately help Ukraine form a stronger position for negotiations "through the use of weapons."
