«This is also a signal that when, you know, Putin is hitting Kharkiv with missiles and drones, and we launch 5G there, then it will be such a fuck for him! That, like, we will still move forward,» Fedorov noted during a live video broadcast on TikTok.
As for Borodyanka, according to Fedorov, this city was added to 5G testing at the request of the relevant vice-prime minister.
«A lot of foreigners come there (to Borodyanka — ed.). It is important to show that we are an innovative country, because this, among other things, affects the amount of money we receive from partners. Therefore, we are working to launch 5G in these cities. We plan to launch a pilot in the fall. These will be some locations or neighborhoods, maybe a little more, depending on how the towers work,» explained Mykhailo Fedorov.
The First Deputy Prime Minister added that they will scale this technology, and also called Ukraine the only country developing such technologies during a full-scale war.
«The frequency is used for certain equipment, airplanes, and so on. So we need to do it very carefully, and we are moving, and the military is helping us with this,» he clarified.
As dev.ua reported, after testing in Lviv this fall, 5G mobile communication technology will be tested in Kharkiv and Borodyanka. Previously, in the second stage, it was planned to be tested only in Kyiv and Odessa.
It was previously reported that the final shutdown of 3G in Ukraine and the transition to 5G is scheduled for December 31, 2030 .
