Today, Natalia Mykolska announced that she is ending her work as executive director of the technology alliance Diia.City United.
In her post on the occasion, she answered some of the audience’s questions, but not all. So we turned to her with ours and are publishing a blitz interview.
— What are the reasons for you leaving the position of CEO at Diia.City United?
— For me, this is a natural moment to hand over leadership and move on to a new professional stage.
— Could you shed some light on where exactly you’re going? At least outline whether it will be something related to IT and the technology business?
— I don’t want to spoil it yet :) I’ll talk about my next professional stage separately a little later. Now it’s important for me to finish my work at Diia.City United and hand over the reins to the new CEO.
I can only say that this is a very logical continuation of what I have been doing in recent years.
— What are the three biggest achievements you can highlight during your time at Diia.City United?
— First, together with the founders, we built Diia.City United from scratch and turned the idea of uniting product tech into a sustainable business association. Now the Union has a professional team, a strong Strategic Council, stable areas of work, and its own recognizable projects.
Second, the technology business has become systematically involved in discussing decisions that affect it. For us, from the beginning, the principle was important: no decisions about the technology business without involving the technology business itself. The union has become a systemic representative of the industry in interaction with the state, works on legislative and regulatory changes, protects and develops Diya.City.
Third, we have created a strong community and developed international and investment directions. Today, participants are not just united within the Union, but also create partnerships and joint projects among themselves. We have built direct connections with international partners and investors, helped companies attract investments, and represented Ukrainian tech at key international platforms.
— What is the main advice you would give to your successor at Diia.City United?
— Keep the pace! And sometimes — set it. To do this, you need to communicate a lot with the business — with founders, CEOs, teams. Listen to them, understand what is really important for them, where they are going. And be inspired by them — by their speed, ambitions, and desire to constantly do something new.
I would like Diia.City United to remain the same — fast, ambitious, and a little daring. Not afraid to experiment, change established approaches, and set a high bar for business associations in Ukraine.
“We don’t say: ‘Oh, we have a problem. Do something, because the industry will die!’ We come up with options on how to solve it.” CEO Diia.City United Natalia Mykolska on interaction with the authorities and decision-making within the union itself
