Military communications and technology expert Sergey «Flash» Beskrestnov reported on a firmware update in «Sukorki». Now drone detectors can notify fighters of the presence of Mavic drones, against which they previously did not work .
«Please bring it to the personnel. There are a lot of „Sugars“ on hand. Dumps kill hundreds of our soldiers every day,» Serhiy «Flash» wrote in Telegram.
He reported that he personally worked on updating the detector’s firmware together with the manufacturer «Sukorka».
According to the expert, after updating the firmware of the «Vanilla Sugar» detector (with two antennas), the device is able to accurately and quickly detect DJI Mavic UAVs of the 2.4 GHz band at a distance of 200-400 meters. In addition, the device will warn the owner about a possible «drop» of ammunition from an enemy drone.
To take advantage of the new features, owners are recommended to install the new software version 5.4.2 and higher. To do this, you need:
Create a WiFi access point on your phone or rename the router’s WiFi network name to drone_spices with the password 87654321.
In the «Sugar» menu, select the " Update» section and launch it. To enter the menu, you need to scroll through two screens by single pressing the control button. Then double-click the «Menu» item. Then single-click to select the «Update» item and double-click on the item.
After updating the software, you need to go to the DJI menu item and select the «Paranoia " item. Exiting the menu completes the setup.
Important! The detector may cause false alarms if it is located near a WiFi router.
