Paid content will only apply to certain new types of subreddits, and will not apply to current ones.
Huffman also mentioned other potential monetization opportunities for Reddit. One is to allow users to make financial transactions within the platform itself, rather than using third-party payment systems like PayPal or Venmo. This could allow users to, among other things, purchase items without leaving Reddit, though Huffman acknowledged that it could be a while before this idea becomes a working feature.
