12,757 new companies were headed by women in 2025. Currently, women directors account for 34% of the total number of newly created companies. This is almost the same as before the start of the full-scale war, according to Opendatabot.

The largest number of new companies with female directors is traditionally registered in the capital — 12,290 businesses. This is followed by the Lviv region (3,154 companies), Dnipropetrovsk region (2,989), Kyiv region (2,399), and Odesa region (2,391).

However, if we look at the share of women among the heads of new companies, the Mykolaiv region leads: 42% of newly created companies there are headed by women. High figures are also found in Chernihiv (38%), Zaporizhia (37%), Kirovohrad (37%), and Zakarpattia (36%) regions.
On the other hand, the lowest share of female directors is in Lviv (30%), Ivano-Frankivsk (30%), Khmelnytskyi (32%), Zhytomyr and Rivne regions (33% each).
Despite this, the number of new companies led by women increased significantly over the year in Ivano-Frankivsk (+27%), Mykolaiv (+24%), and Volyn (+20%).
The wholesale trade sector leads in the number of female directors of newly created companies: 5,429 businesses, or 15% of the total.
IT is in 6th position — 4.7% of the total or 601 companies.

Some of the “traditionally male” industries have seen the fastest growth. There have been more female directors in computer manufacturing (+76%), IT (+72%) and machinery manufacturing (+44%).
In total, among the almost 1.5 million companies currently registered in Ukraine, women head 32% of them — 455,298 companies.
