«The number of EPAM specialists in Transcarpathia changed in different periods. If until February 2022, no more than 30 of our colleagues worked in the region, then a month after the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, this figure increased to about 350. In the future, the indicator fluctuated in accordance with the intensity of shelling and the situation in other regions of the country,» commented Serhiy Harashchuk.
According to him, the Transcarpathian region is today one of the most attractive regions for business relocation in general and IT companies in particular.
«This is due to the proximity to the borders of the European Union, the relatively stable security situation, and the existing infrastructure. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, some of our specialists have continued to relocate to this region,» the EPAM representative added.
As for the company’s activities, Serhiy Harashchuk reminded that EPAM joined the initiative of the local IT cluster to open a new coworking space. Vector Space.
«This project was supported by several companies in the region. The new space includes 46 workplaces, meeting rooms, and conference rooms,» added Garashchuk, noting that the coworking space is equipped with everything necessary for uninterrupted work, including uninterruptible power supply systems and alternative Internet channels.

«Currently, the team is completing the development of a special platform that will provide the opportunity to quickly update and administer community web portals. We will present this development very soon,» promised the head of EPAM in the Transcarpathian region.
The EPAM representative also spoke about cooperation with leading educational institutions in the region — in particular, lectures, educational events, and mentoring programs are organized on an ongoing basis for Uzhhorod National University, and for the Transcarpathian Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education, EPAM is developing a project to develop digitalization and automation of the institute’s work processes.
«Currently, part of the work, for example, collecting and processing applications from teachers for advanced training, is done manually, which leads to a waste of time and resources. Our team of volunteers is creating a platform that will optimize the educational process and automate document flow,» said Serhiy Harashchuk.
