The Finnish Defense Tech company Summa plans to start mass production of various types of drones in the country in the first half of 2025, while a significant part of the products will be destined for Ukraine.
«Demand for technology and production capabilities of drones is high. Drones will be supplied not only to Ukraine, but also to the countries of the European Union and NATO», — said Summa Defense Ltd General Director Jussi Holopainen.
At the same time, the enterprise for the production of drones in Finland will be launched together with Ukrainian partners, among which Kort, Elf Systems, Skyassist and MPS Development are named.
«The first drone manufacturing plant is a strategic investment for which Summa Defense will create a subsidiary company, Summa Drones. Summa Drones will then create a joint venture in Finland with its Ukrainian partners, in which Summa Drones will have a controlling stake», — the company said in a press release.
Interestingly, in addition to aerial drones, Summa Drones will also produce land and sea drones.
