The event is organized by eō Business Incubators in conjunction with the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) of the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Ukraine Startup Conference — a free conference for technology startup founders, investors, and representatives of the innovation ecosystem — will take place in Kyiv on March 26. The event is organized by eō Business Incubators in conjunction with the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) of the U.S. Department of Commerce.

The conference will bring together Ukrainian entrepreneurs, international mentors, investors, and industry experts to discuss the practical aspects of creating and scaling technology companies in global markets.

The event will take place on March 26 at the Premier Palace Hotel in Kyiv.
Registration opens at 8:30.

The conference program will be a practical guide to how competitive technology companies are actually created and developed. Participants will learn about the key stages of startup development - from legal structuring of the company and protection of intellectual property to attracting investment, market analysis and building a compelling business vision.

Speakers from the USA and Europe will share their experiences and practical advice on:

  • what investors actually pay attention to when evaluating startups;
  • how founders can correctly determine market size and competitive position;
  • why financial models, budgets, forecasts and capital structure often become crucial to obtaining financing.

Special attention will be paid to investment opportunities for Ukrainian startups, in particular from Ukraine Phoenix Tech Fund.

Main topics of the conference

During the day, participants will consider key aspects of building a technology business, including:

  • forming the foundations of a startup: company registration, legal structure, intellectual property protection, and forming a team of founders;
  • criteria by which investors evaluate companies in the early stages;
  • market and customer analysis: identifying opportunities, competitive positioning and demand testing;
  • financial basics of a startup: budgeting, market assessment, financial forecasts, company valuation and cap table;
  • building a strong business vision and implementing it;
  • creating an effective pitch and investor presentation.

  • Sarah Gottwald is a venture capitalist with experience in technology and AI, former Managing Director of Blockchain Founders Group;
  • Felix Litvinsky — technology entrepreneur, Managing Director of LaunchPad Ezra at Cornell University (formerly Blackstone LaunchPad);
  • Drury Mackenzie is a cleantech entrepreneur and strategist who helps startups find product-market fit;
  • Andriy Milinevskyi is an expert with over 25 years of C-level management experience, a consultant on strategy and business transformation;
  • Dominique Piot is Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Ukraine Phoenix Tech Fund, former CEO of UNIT.City;
  • Ivan Petrenko — Managing Partner Angel One Venture Fund and CEO Ideas Center UCU;
  • Andreas Schemm is a gaming and VR entrepreneur, founder of Gateway VR Studios and Vreo;
  • Charles Whitehead — founder of eō Business Incubators, Managing Partner Ukraine Phoenix Tech Fund, former senior banker at Citigroup;
  • Artem Yaremchuk is General Partner at Pragma.tech, an entrepreneur with over 18 years of experience in creating and scaling technology companies.
