“We are taking all necessary measures, but we do not have the right to disclose their content.” Kyivstar did not provide a clear answer as to whether they will turn off communications and the Internet on the way of Russian drones

The day before, some military officials stated that Ukraine may resort to disconnecting mobile communications and the Internet in territories that lie along the flight path of enemy UAVs.
In particular, this was reported by a specialist in the field of radio technologies, military and engineer Serhiy «Flash» Bezkrestnov.
«It’s no secret that the issue of possibly disabling data transmission along the flight path of the Shaheds is currently being discussed in order to completely deprive them of any communication capabilities. The Russians are doing the same with respect to Ukrainian deep strike drones,» he noted.
The commander of the communications company of the 241st separate brigade of the Territorial Defense Directorate, Andriy Nemirovsky, also announced possible communication disruptions.
«The population needs to be understanding about this. I think the state is already finding options and ways to ensure that the population does not lose contact,» he commented, explaining that during a drone attack in Ukraine, mobile communication may disappear, but temporary interruptions are necessary for security reasons.
dev.ua contacted the press services of mobile operators with a request to comment on this information and confirm whether they are indeed preparing such scenarios.
The press service of the operator Kyivstar reported that to minimize threats to the population, military personnel, and facilities on the territory of Ukraine from enemy UAVs that can use SIM cards, Kyivstar closely cooperates with Ukrainian security, defense, and law enforcement forces.
«We are taking all necessary measures, but we are not entitled to disclose their content for national security reasons,» the company noted.
Vodafone’s press service promised to comment on the information later.
Recall that dev.ua recently examined in detail the topic that Russian «Shaheeds» allegedly use the networks of Ukrainian mobile operators and Telegram bots for command and control during flights over Ukraine.
