On Sunday night, unknown individuals attempted to set fire to a Lithuanian company that maintains Starlink satellite communications equipment.
This was announced by the Prime Minister of Lithuania Mindaugas Sinkevičius on his Facebook page.
According to the head of the Lithuanian government, the sabotage was repelled thanks to prior warnings from the special services and timely security measures.
"Tonight, after midnight, another incident occurred - an attempt was made to set fire to a Lithuanian company that stores Starlink communication equipment. The services warned this company about possible attacks, security was strengthened, and the attempt failed. Our services are very closely monitoring the activities of enemy states and are taking measures to protect people and their property," Sinkevičius said.
In addition, the Prime Minister commented on another incident - the flight of an unidentified drone over the country's territory that morning. The official stressed the need to thoroughly investigate the possible sabotage component of this incident and announced an emergency meeting of the security body.
"Regarding the drone that flew over Lithuania this morning, it is necessary to very seriously check the version of sabotage. Tomorrow I will convene a meeting of the National Security Commission. It is necessary to find out where the drone came from, where the radars began to record it. The answers that the services will provide after examining the wreckage will also be important. We will also consider additional powers of the services to neutralize drones," the Prime Minister of Lithuania emphasized.
