"Currently, more than 800 specialists have already been appointed to the positions of digital officers. At the same time, about 2,000 such positions are envisaged in the Defense Forces. Therefore, it is important to form a professional community of people who understand both technology and the specifics of military service, are able to accompany changes and help units effectively use modern digital solutions," said Oksana Ferchuk, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine for Digital Development, Digital Transformations and Digitalization.
Oksana Ferchuk previously reported that the share of candidates from the civil sector is only 16%. In her opinion, this is due to insufficient awareness of the community and lack of support from IT associations in popularizing the project.

The first 35 leaders of the digital transformation of the Defense Forces successfully completed a two-month course at the CDTO Campus, defending final projects on the development of their units. The training program combined strategic foundations, leadership and development of competencies, including cyber defense, project management, work with registries and studying the ecosystem of products (Army+, Delta, MIS and combat systems). About 40 military and civilian experts from the Ministry of Defense, the IT community and the analytical sector shared their experience with the graduates.
The program is part of the systematic work on the development of digital competencies in the defense sector and is implemented with the support of international partners.
Recruitment for the following programs of the faculty will be carried out in a closed format, as specialists are submitted for training by their immediate supervisor after being appointed to a position in the Digital Transformation Structure.
"We want to 'populate' IT expertise in all units and departments." The Ministry of Defense plans to introduce an IT vertical in the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the positions of digital officers
