The government has decided to launch a pilot project that opens up access to international partners to train AI models for unmanned systems based on real battlefield data.
This is a new format of cooperation between the state, Ukrainian companies, and international partners, notes Minister of Defense Mykhailo Fedorov.
A special AI platform has been created on the basis of the Center for Innovation and Development of Defense Technologies of the Ministry of Defense, to which weapons manufacturers have access.
The AI platform enables:
"Today, Ukraine has a unique array of battlefield data that is not found anywhere else in the world. These are millions of annotated frames collected during tens of thousands of combat flights. This data is already being used to train neural networks that automatically detect ground and air targets in the DELTA system. International partners and Ukrainian companies have a great demand for such data for the development and modernization of defense technologies," says the Minister of Defense.
So international partners get the opportunity to train their AI models on real data from modern warfare. And Ukraine gets faster development of autonomous systems and new technological solutions for the front.
Recall that this year, the Defense Forces officially approved the concept of using AI and launched units for testing at the front.
