GovTech Day was held as part of the World Economic Forum 2026 in Davos. This is a separate international event initiated by Ukraine and dedicated to digital public administration, artificial intelligence, and public services.
According to a press release from GGTC Kyiv, GovTech Day was held at the Ukrainian House in Davos and was organized by the Global Government Technology Centre in Kyiv in conjunction with the centre in Berlin. The event was attended by the Ministers of Digital Transformation of Singapore, Estonia and the United Arab Emirates, as well as representatives of Capgemini, IBM, Microsoft and international organizations.
The main topic of discussion was the transformation of public administration under the influence of agent-based artificial intelligence. It was about the automation of typical administrative processes — processing applications, checking compliance with requirements, issuing permits and monitoring compliance with regulations. Participants emphasized that it is these formalized processes that have the greatest potential for the implementation of autonomous AI systems.
The Ukrainian experience was presented by Mykhailo Fedorov, who described the Diya ecosystem as an example of digital public infrastructure. Currently, 77 government services and 33 digital documents are available in the Diya application, and the number of users is almost 24 million. More than 165 online services have been opened through the Diya portal, and the number of active accounts exceeds 6.3 million.
Special attention was paid to Diya.AI, a national AI assistant for citizens' interaction with government services. The assistant has already processed over 180,000 applications and automatically generated over 5,000 income certificates. In 2025, the project received the European Commission’s Best Cases Award.
The panel discussions also discussed changing models of public-private partnerships in GovTech. According to expert estimates, global government spending on IT in 2025 exceeded $606 billion, and the GovTech market could grow to over $1.4 trillion by 2034.
GovTech Day in Davos became a separate event in the program of the World Economic Forum 2026 and was dedicated to the exchange of practical experience in the digital transformation of states between governments, international organizations, and technology companies.
