President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this during a chat with journalists, LIGA.net reports .
Currently, an upper speed limit of no more than 161 km/h has been set for Starshield terminals used by the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
The Ukrainian side is trying to resolve this issue at all levels: between the military, the Ministry of Defense, diplomats, and also directly addresses SpaceX. According to Zelensky, the company itself currently has "no one to answer to," while US representatives at various levels explain the situation by "technical problems."
To check whether this was really a technical failure in the SpaceX network, the Ukrainian authorities decided to conduct an experiment.
"Either this is some kind of operation, or an agreement to limit us, to disconnect us, to prevent us from being able to defend ourselves, to protect our people — both at the front and civilians," Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted.
To test the connection, Ukraine sent several cars with Starlink terminals to the territory of the European Union countries. There, the cars accelerated to 180 km/h and more (where it was allowed and possible).
As a result of the experiment, Ukraine received clear evidence that there were no technical problems.
"We have the relevant records, we have the relevant evidence. The conclusion is this: the restrictions are in effect, the restrictions are in effect on the territory of Ukraine and are not in effect on the territory of EU countries," the president summed up.
