This year, the state has contracted five times more middle strikes than last year. These are drones capable of effectively striking enemy targets at depths of 120 to 150 kilometers.
This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy following a meeting where he heard a report by Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov on supporting Ukrainian operations with drones of various types.
According to the president, increasing the supply of medium-range drones is one of the key priorities for the coming months. The main targets for such weapons will be military logistics facilities, warehouses, headquarters, air defense systems, and other components of the offensive infrastructure of the Russian occupiers.
"This year, five times more middle strikes have already been contracted than last year, and we will continue to scale contracting and production," the president noted.
The meeting also raised the issue of opening up arms exports. Relevant regulatory steps are currently being prepared that will support Ukrainian arms manufacturers and strengthen the country's international agreements.
Earlier, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrsky, shared statistics that in March 2026, unmanned systems units carried out almost 350 Middle Strike strikes. Thanks to this, 143 enemy logistics facilities and warehouses, 52 Russian army command posts, as well as 20 oil and energy industry facilities were hit.
As a reminder, Mikhail Fedorov presented a general technological plan for warfare. Among his main focuses are the development of "small air defense", the use of battlefield data, and the achievement of an asymmetric technological advantage.
