The domestic electronic warfare system "Lima", which was created in 2022 primarily to counter drones, demonstrated impressive effectiveness against Russian aeroballistic missiles.
According to the developer, Cascade Systems, in the first three months of 2026 alone, the system successfully deflected or neutralized 26 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal missiles. In total, since the system began operating, it has managed to neutralize 58 missiles of this type, LIGA.net reports .
"Lima" operates as a strategic-level electronic warfare system. Its main principle of operation is to exert powerful radio-electronic interference on satellite navigation of targets, in particular on GNSS systems. Due to such countermeasures, enemy missiles lose their guidance accuracy and critically deviate from the set course.
In addition to combating ballistics, the complex demonstrates high results against other types of threats. The developers note that the system has already managed to repel 33 cruise missiles and more than 10,000 various UAVs. In addition, within the range of the "Lima" the absolute majority of Russian guided aerial bombs also lose orientation and do not reach their targets.
The Ground Forces highly appreciate the work of the complex, as it allows for the formation of a reliable multi-level defense. "Lima" is integrated into the overall air defense architecture as an additional echelon of defense. It takes on those targets that anti-aircraft missile systems failed to intercept at the previous stages, thereby significantly reducing the load on classic kinetic air defense.
Let us remind you that dev.ua published an interview with Viktor Pavluchinsky, the creator of the smart electronic warfare system "Pugach", in which he emphasized the shortcomings of modern electronic warfare devices.
