As Vector reports , the main innovation of the system is a special Virtual Limb Mode. Thanks to it, a digital model of the lost limb is created in a virtual environment, with which the patient actively interacts during therapy. Such visual and interactive feedback helps the brain restore the correct sensorimotor connections. This allows to significantly reduce phantom pain (a complex neurological condition when a person feels pain in a body part that is no longer there) and restore a sense of control.
VRNOW works in conjunction with traditional physical and occupational therapy. In addition to amputations, the system has been successfully used to rehabilitate patients after severe mine and blast injuries, strokes, and various neurological and orthopedic disorders.
Before entering the international market, the technology underwent extensive clinical testing in Ukraine, where it received its first patent. Today, the VRNOW solution is used in more than 13 leading medical institutions in the country, including the UNBROKEN National Rehabilitation Center and the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital. More than 1,500 military and civilian patients, including children, have already completed the innovative rehabilitation course.
The developers have already presented their system at the prestigious University Hospital Essen. As soon as the certification process in the EU is completed, the Ukrainian technology will begin to be officially implemented in European hospitals. At the same time, the company is expanding its legal protection: patent applications have already been filed in France, Italy, Austria and Poland. Their approval is expected during the current 2026.
Previously, ADVIN GLOBAL claimed that they were the first Ukrainian IT company that not only adapted existing technologies, but also "developed a completely new solution from scratch" and went through the full cycle from concept to certified VRNOW medical product and obtaining a patent.
