In particular, 44 specialists are leaving the Guru Apps business, and another 23 employees are leaving Unicore. Before the announcement of the changes, the total staff of Universe Group was about 300 people. Some of the employees of Guru Apps and Unicore are planned to be transferred to other internal divisions, so the final number of the team that will remain after the transformation is not yet known in the company.
«As part of its business transformation, Universe has made the decision to move to a smaller, more focused team — and this is the hardest part of this decision,» the company explains.
All laid-off specialists are promised financial compensation and will maintain health insurance until mid-September 2026. In addition, the Universe recruitment team will provide consultations and recommendations for faster employment of employees within the group and in the Genesis ecosystem.
Universe was founded in 2018 by Yaroslav Morozov. In 2024, it was reformatted into the Universe Group holding, which unites several autonomous businesses. In May 2026, Universe Group left the Genesis ecosystem and completely transitioned to independent management.
In July, IT company Wisey, part of Universe Group, announced a change in its business model and a further reduction in the team from 18 to 3 employees.
