Ukraine has launched an online resource that collects cases of Russian sabotage in European countries. The database already contains dozens of episodes, and the project itself is intended to show that attacks on infrastructure, cyberattacks, and information pressure are part of a single campaign.
According to Military, the Sahaidachnyi Security Center has presented a tracker of Russian hybrid aggression, which has already collected 37 acts of sabotage in Europe since the start of the full-scale war. This is not about individual incidents, but an attempt to consolidate into a single system the actions that Moscow is taking against the EU and NATO countries.
The center explains that the resource covers attacks on critical and military infrastructure, energy facilities, and logistics. All cases are divided into five operational domains to show that Russia does not operate chaotically, but combines physical sabotage, cyberattacks, and information influence in an attempt to undermine the stability of European states.
A separate part of the study is devoted to possible escalation scenarios. Analysts draw attention to the risks around the Baltic Sea islands, in particular the Swedish Gotland and the Estonian Saaremaa. They also consider the potential escalation in the Arctic and the likelihood of ground offensive actions in Finland or Norway. In addition, the center has prepared a practical booklet «Life under Fire» with advice for civilians, businesses and local authorities, as well as information cards for journalists, experts and politicians in Western countries.
The topic of Russian sabotage in Europe has come to the fore again in recent months. In particular, Czech law enforcement officers detained suspects in the case of arson at the workshop of the Ukrainian subsidiary of Archer, which is associated with the Czech defense holding LPP Holding. Against this background, the new tracker should become not just a database, but a tool that will help to more quickly see the scale and repeatability of such operations.
Previously, dev.ua wrote about how the FBI and the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) published a joint statement: hackers associated with Russian intelligence services gained access to thousands of accounts on Signal and other commercial messengers.
