The cyberattack, which has been ongoing since October 22, has affected key information resources of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rossilgospnadzor) — the VetIS and Saturn systems, which are the digital backbone of control over the safety of imported and exported agricultural products.

"What are "Mercury" and "VetIS"? This is a digital customs for all food in Russia. And what will happen if it is turned off? We decided to check. From October 22, we will attack the key systems of "Rossilgospnadzor"," - reported the IT ARMY of Ukraine in its Telegram channel.

As a result, manufacturers of dairy products and baby food were forced to stop shipping goods.
In addition, Rossilgospnadzor did not introduce an emergency regime that would allow businesses to ship without issuing electronic accompanying veterinary documents, which further complicated the situation.
