The transfer of Swedish early warning and control aircraft (EWC) Saab 340 AEW&C (ACS 890) to Ukraine is on schedule, reports Military with reference to Delfi .
The ASC 890 aircraft are based on the Saab 340 platform and are equipped with modern Erieye radars, which allow them to detect targets at long distances, coordinate combat aircraft actions, and control airspace.
The transfer of ASC 890 was announced back in May last year as part of military assistance from Sweden.
"We are working according to the original schedule, but for security reasons we will not announce when and where certain actions took place or will take place," the Swedish Ministry of Defense said in a comment.
Sweden also helps with training Ukrainians as pilots, maintenance personnel, and on-board equipment operators.
Earlier it became known that Ukraine received a new batch of F-16 multi-role fighters.
