This was reported by Defender Media, citing a comment by the company’s founder, Alexey Solntsev.
According to him, these funds are needed to accelerate R&D and scaling.
MaXon is developing an autonomous air-to-air air defense system that will protect large cities from Shaheds and their modifications. The complex consists of an air or ground platform, its own detection and guidance system, and interceptor drones.
MaXon combat tests began three weeks ago. The Brave1 state defense technology cluster notes that the solution has already shown initial positive results.
According to the company’s founder, if the hypotheses are confirmed, 20-25 MaXon systems will allow protecting all of Kyiv from «shaheeds».
According to Solntsev, the team developed its own system for detecting «shaheeds» and targeting such targets, and the interceptor drones for MaXon are also its own development. At the same time, the Institute of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as a partner company specializing in the development of ammunition, helped develop the warhead for them.
The solution also involves cooperation with other Ukrainian manufacturers. For example, the balloons, which became an aerial platform for interceptor drones, are created by the Ukrainian company Aerobavovna, and thermal imaging cameras from the Ukrainian company Oko Camera became the basis for the detection system.
MaXon interceptor drones are 90% made of Ukrainian components.
The publication recalls that Oleksiy Solntsev founded the company MaXon about seven months ago, in early 2025, and before that he was the co-founder and CEO of the Ukrainian-German project SmartZavod, which developed hybrid production technology for complex, high-precision industrial parts.
