According to Army Recognition, the Seawolf is built around a platform whose main components—hull, engine, propulsion, communications, optics, and control systems—remain unchanged. At the same time, the upper deck is designed to accommodate various auxiliary equipment.
This modular approach aims to reduce the time of adaptation to new configurations and reduce the load on the operator. Seawolf is described as a drone focused on mobility, low visibility and cost-effectiveness. According to Nordex representatives, the design of the drone reflects Ukrainian experience of the war with Russia at sea.
Nordex claims it can produce 25 Seawolfs per month. The standard version is 7.5 meters long, 2.2 meters wide and 0.52 meters high. It is equipped with a 270-horsepower diesel engine and can carry up to 1,400 liters of fuel. The company reports a range of more than 1,600 kilometers. The total payload is up to 1,650 kilograms, and the warhead payload is up to 450 kilograms. The approximate total weight of the base vehicle is 950 kilograms.
Several platform modifications were presented at the exhibition:
Seawolf R for air defense.
Seawolf MG for cover + MGR version with integrated radar.
Seawolf EW for electronic warfare.
Seawolf M for mining.
Seawolf D for transporting other unmanned aerial vehicles.
All of these configurations are implemented on the same 7.5-meter base platform, with adjustments made only to the deck module and payload systems. This ensures rapid deployment according to the specific mission.
Nordex also unveiled a concept for the Seawolf Extended Platform. This future variant features a 9.5-meter hull with a claimed payload of 4,000 kilograms and a range of 1,500 kilometers.
The combat equipment of this version is expected to include four AIM-9 air-to-air missiles, a 12.7 mm M2 turret, and a launcher for FPV drones or a guided munitions launch system. The company notes that this version is being developed for applications such as combined tactical operations, surveillance, and border protection.
Recall that in early spring, it became known about a new upgrade of the Ukrainian surface drone Magura V5, which allows it to operate together with a «swarm» of decoy drones. This overloads Russian defense systems, allowing the main strike vehicles to reach the target.
