Ukrainian developer releases mobile game "Erudo" - an analogue of Scrabble with the ability to play offline

A Ukrainian developer created the mobile game "Erudo" - a digital adaptation of popular word board games like Scrabble or "Erudite". The main goal of the project was to eliminate manual scoring and stacking of chips, as well as the ability to play without a network connection.

Main game modes and features

"Erudo" offers several gameplay options, as described by the developer under the nickname Yuzvix on Reddit.

  • Game formats: against the computer (4 difficulty levels), online matches using a 4-digit room code, and local play on two devices side by side via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi Direct.

  • Classic mode: traditional gameplay where each player gets their own set of letters and takes turns making moves.

  • "Fair Play" mode: completely eliminates the element of chance. All participants receive the same set of letters and move at the same time, and the most expensive option is counted on the board. Victory depends solely on vocabulary and the ability to use point multipliers.

  • Dictionary settings: the ability to choose between "Strict" mode (only nouns in the initial form) and "Classic" (all parts of speech and word forms).

  • Language support: the application contains 16 interface languages and 16 corresponding dictionaries with a word interpretation view function and a hint system.

Access conditions

The free version offers full access to all modes, unlimited local matches, word interpretation, and one online game per day. Hints can be obtained by watching short commercials, and the advertising banners themselves are displayed only in the menu and on the results screen, without distracting during the game.

A one-time "Premium" purchase is also available to users, which completely removes ads, removes limits on online games, and provides hints without watching videos.

Detailed information about the project and a full list of languages are available on the website , and the application can be downloaded from the Google Play store.
