Ukrainian startup Eated is closing. Cofounders tell us why

The couple Ray and Irina Astafichev announced the closure of the startup Eated, of which they were co-founders.

According to Ray Astafichev, the decision to take this step was not easy for them, but it was necessary.

«We ran out of energy after 4 years of pushing forward an idea and a product, when just as we were on the right track, something happened and we had to start all over again,» he commented on his LinkedIn page.

Astafichev noted that the problem of obesity, excess weight, and lack of healthy eating, which their product was intended to address, remains extremely relevant in the modern world, but at the same time, most people are looking for a «magic pill» and want quick results without effort.

In addition, he noted that it was difficult to attract investment for this startup.

Astafichev thanked the users who purchased a subscription to Eated and shared their feedback after testing the beta version, as well as the entire startup team and people who were involved in its promotion.

At the same time, the IT expert added that the Eated app will remain on the AppStore for at least 1-2 months while the co-founders resolve legal issues.

«So if you’ve been wanting to build some healthy habits, now’s the time,» he suggested.

As dev.ua previously reported, a couple from Kyiv launched a healthy eating app, Eated. As of the beginning of last year , it was exiting the MVP stage, already had users, including in the US and Canada, attracted its first investments, and was even expanding its team.
