Bleeping Computer notes that Gemini is also increasing some of its mobile traffic.
ChatGPT’s market share reportedly fell to 65% in January, about 20% lower than its 86% share in January 2025. In contrast, Gemini has crossed the 20% threshold, while Grok has crossed 3% and is closing in on DeepSeek.

Data also shows that fewer people use AI tools during the holidays.
For example, over the past few weeks, the average daily number of visits across all tools has dropped to the levels of August-September. As people return to work, the numbers are rising again.
Gemini’s growth was previously recorded by analytics company Sensor Tower. While OpenAI’s app still leads in downloads (50% of the market) and MAU (55%), Google’s Gemini is showing the fastest growth.
In November, Google released a new artificial intelligence model, Gemini 3, which it called the «most accurate» and «smartest» in the world and a big step towards AGI.
