Made in Ukraine, delivered to the USA. Ukrainians launch a network of golf simulators in the States. Will the new product of the startup Remo succeed in conquering the huge American market?
Ukrainians are opening a network of golf simulators in the United States, trying to meet the growing demand for such a product in this country. According to the CEO and founder of the Remo startup Yaroslav Pryhara, more than 40 million people in the United States already play golf simulators, and the potential audience is much wider. This is comparable to the entire population of Ukraine. A rapid surge of interest in this sport occurred after the Covid pandemic.
One Remo Golf Simulator is already operational in Austin, Texas, and another has opened in Nebraska. The next step is to further expand the network of golf simulators over the next year. Contracts have already been signed for the installation of such simulators in a number of states, and the units for this have been put into production.

Yaroslav Prygara, known for his work in the automotive sector (at various times, the former CEO of the Mercedes-Benz representative office in Ukraine, CEO of the automotive company SHERP, as well as a representative of the top management of other market players), together with Founding Partner of the investment company Diligent Capital Partners Dan Pasko, launched the Remo Workspaces startup in the United States in 2021. These are mobile office spaces that can be placed anywhere without any problems, and any interested client can book them for themselves online.
CEO and founder of the startup Remo Yaroslav Prygara
Now, in late 2025 — early 2026, they are testing a new product — Remo Golf Simulator — and have high hopes for it. Yaroslav Prygara told dev.ua about where such golf units are manufactured and how they get to the USA, how playing on golf simulators differs from playing on a real course, who develops the software for their solution and what are the prospects for the startup’s development. We have highlighted the main points from our conversation for this text.
«Ukrainian production is optimal in terms of both quality and cost»
According to the founder of Remo, units for both office spaces and golf simulators are made in Ukraine, because even despite the considerable distance and logistical difficulties, the price-quality ratio remains the best here. Although the first experimental units were made in Mexico.
«We produced the first office units in Mexico, because I moved there in 2021. We produced some of the units in the European Union, in the Baltic States. But after analysis, we came to the conclusion that Ukrainian production is optimal in terms of both quality and cost,» says Yaroslav Prygara.
The idea of installing ready-made office units in the US, the startup founder adds, is that it is extremely difficult to obtain permits for the construction of capital premises in this country, and this process usually takes years. Therefore, ready-made structures that can be installed immediately and agreed upon for their installation in one or two days look like a really interesting solution for the American market.
Yaroslav says that a virtually finished product is delivered to America, requiring only an electrical and Internet connection. In the case of golf simulators, not offices, the necessary electronics are also installed on site in the US, but the frame itself arrives ready-made.
Units manufactured in Ukraine are delivered by truck to one of the European ports, and then sail to the States by sea.
«In America, the cost of a working hour is probably one of the highest in the world, and there are problems with finding professional people at an adequate price. We analyzed several options for production in the States and came to the conclusion that it does not make financial sense,» explains CEO Remo.
The golf simulator software, which is important, is also Ukrainian — it was developed in conjunction with Miratech, one of Remo Workspaces' investors. It is a platform for booking a unit and its management system.
«If we’re talking about software, it’s our own. We developed it for an office project together with one of our investors, the well-known Ukrainian company Miratech. We are currently in the process of adapting it specifically for the needs of a golf simulator. After all, it requires a number of options that are different from what is needed for an office,» the businessman adds.
In addition, as Yaroslav Pryhar says, their product integrates a number of partner solutions — also from Ukrainian companies.
«I am grateful to our partners who have entered into cooperation with us. This, for example, is the Ajax camera of Ukrainian production. And many other elements,» emphasized the founder of the startup.
The only thing that is not Ukrainian in Remo golf simulators is, in fact, the gadgets used for the game. «It is clear that there are devices that are not Ukrainian, I mean the touch panel and so on, but, apart from that, the unit is completely made in Ukraine and we export it to the States as a finished product,» Prygar emphasized this once again.
«After being asked about it 10 times, we decided — okay, let’s try it»
The first Remo Golf Simulators are installed within the framework of existing golf clubs in the USA, but, as Yaroslav Prygara says, this is not a prerequisite, but only a starting position for their business. Potentially, golf simulators may appear in other places: several new locations that have already been agreed upon are not tied to golf clubs. But, according to Prygara, it was golf clubs that requested golf simulators when Remo installed its office units on their territory.
«In the process of communicating with the clubs, one after another, requests arose: can you deliver a golf simulator to us? They liked the way our unit looked, and such a request arose. So after we were asked about it not once or twice, but 10 times, we decided — well, okay, let’s try to do it. The product appeared at the request of several clubs, and at the end of December we opened our second location,» Prygara noted.
According to him, the installation of golf simulators at golf clubs as a separate solution in a separate unit has a purely design explanation.
«Golf clubs in America were very often built decades ago, sometimes even 100 years ago. The technical parameters for installing a golf simulator in a clubhouse — the main building of a golf club — are very often simply impossible to meet. For example, due to the fact that the ceiling height does not allow you to install a simulator,» he adds.
Another explanation for installing golf simulators specifically at golf clubs is that golfers usually combine playing on a simulator and on a real course in their practice. «It’s quite inconvenient to go to a golf course and separately practice on a simulator in another location. So if there is an opportunity to get such a service on the territory of the same club where golfers play physically, it’s a plus,» says Prygara.
He claims that golf simulators are used with equal success both as a training option for professionals and amateurs, and as a location for fun with friends.
At the same time, if we are talking about training for those people who are focused on their results, then the Remo Golf Simulator allows you to «track» a large number of professional indicators during the game: «The best comparison is like separate gadgets for running, swimming or smart watches, when a person can train independently and receive all the data necessary for effective training.»
Another very significant advantage of golf simulators over real golf courses is that «the match will take place in any weather.» Relatively speaking, you can practice in the dark, in rainy or cold weather, and, according to the founder, very few golf clubs currently have lighting on all holes in the dark — as a rule, golf clubs simply do not work after dark.
As for the format, when the golf simulator is used not for training, but for fun with friends, this is also very popular.
«This is an opportunity to gather a group of friends and actually play real golf, because the accuracy here is down to centimeters. You can download hundreds of courses on which you can play,» says Yaroslav Prygara.
Booking such a golf unit is very simple — you can do it with a few clicks online, receive a passcode that allows you to enter the unit and use all the devices inside.
«A few clicks, you book, open the unit from your smartphone, play, and after playing, close the door,» adds the founder.
As already mentioned, the first units with golf simulators were installed within the framework of existing golf clubs, but now there is interest in this from other customers as well. «We are finalizing an agreement with several hotels, with several bars, where this will become part of both training and entertainment for guests,» the businessman announces.
Sport is not just for the rich
According to the founder, golf simulators as a product have been around for a long time, but their quality was not enough for this solution to become very popular. «But in the process, the image improved, the customer experience improved. Currently, 42 million people in the United States, both professional or semi-professional golfers, and amateurs or just fans of the game, play/practice on golf simulators. Most people who play golf on the courses also play on golf simulators,» he said.
Yaroslav Prygara says that the current version of top golf simulators provides a very high level of game realism, and in the States the market is growing at a breakneck pace, demonstrating double-digit growth.
«Actually, it’s not just in the States, there’s also growth in Europe, and there’s also been a very strong jump in Asia. So we can safely say that there’s a boom in golf simulators in the world in general,» the founder is convinced.
While in Ukraine there is still a persistent perception of golf as a sport for the elite or entertainment for the rich, in the US golf has become a mass phenomenon.
«There are 18,000 golf clubs in the USA. There are golf clubs even in small towns with a population of several tens of thousands of residents, and there are a lot of them in large cities. Indeed, there are golf clubs where membership can cost tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars, but there are also peculiar public golf courses where a game will cost $30,» explains Yaroslav Prygara.
As for the price of playing on a golf simulator compared to a golf course, Yaroslav Prygara claims that overall it is comparable, but overall it is just a different format.
«It’s hard to compare playing on the course and playing on a simulator. After all, they are slightly different tasks. A very important factor is also that, as a rule, a game on a full 18-hole course can take three to four hours, but on a simulator it can be much faster, because you don’t have to go somewhere on a golf cart, look for a ball or do many of the things that you do on a golf course. Therefore, the game itself is much shorter,» he explains.
Pivot for the entire startup or just an additional product: plans for 2026
When asked about his intentions for the next year, Yaroslav Prygara initially jokes that plans for a startup are unpredictable. But later he shares a more specific vision of development.
«We would like to cover all states, we would like to grow aggressively. We will see how successful we are. We will soon announce a large partnership that covers many states. And based on this, we will be able to talk more objectively about the number of our units,» the founder of the startup notes.
According to him, we won’t be talking about thousands of units, but if there were 100+, it would be a significant step for business development and would indicate success.
Yaroslav Prygara is not yet ready to say whether the idea with golf simulators will become the final pivot for the Remo startup, or whether units for golf and for office spaces will continue to develop as two branches of their business.
«It seems that the golf simulator solution has received greater support in the golf clubs themselves and not only in them, it is much more technological and this demand is stronger, compared to offices. We are moving according to the classic scheme of a startup that can make pivots based on market demand. But the main thing is that our basic product is a unit that we have already learned to manufacture and which has received positive feedback from customers. It is quite versatile and can be used in many directions,» says the founder of Remo.
According to him, there are examples of using Remo units as a music school, massage parlor, or even a venue for wedding ceremonies.
So, as Yaroslav Prygara says, he wouldn’t be surprised if golf simulators become Remo’s main focus, «but that doesn’t mean we’re taking office space off the agenda.»
As for the startup team, the founder says they went through serious challenges and at some point said goodbye to more people, and this year they went through a stage of «rebuilding the team.» Among the important roles for which Remo is currently looking for candidates is the head of marketing. «This is the main request at the moment. But we are also looking for several other positions, especially given the development plans that I have announced,» he added.
«We are not actively looking for investments right now»
As for investments in the Remo startup, several rounds of financing have already been closed, and the startup team is not actively seeking investments.
«We raised an angel round, where there were many well-known investors in Ukraine, when we first started it with my partner Dan Pasko. And recently we closed a new round, it was in 2025. We have already received a commitment from our current investors for the first stage of scaling. Therefore, we are not actively looking for investments right now,» he explained.
At the same time, the startup’s CEO does not rule out that the issue of attracting new investments will arise in 2026, but not right now. «So far, our funding is sufficient to complete the sprint I’m talking about,» Yaroslav Prygara clarified.
In response to the question of whether Remo Golf Simulator plans to make its way to markets other than the US, the founder admits such a development, but still — not at this stage.
«I’ve probably received more than 10 inquiries from Europe in the last few weeks since we opened our first golf simulators, but we’re not actively looking at Europe. The main reason is that we don’t want to lose focus. The American market is very large, and our team is too small at the starting point to consider the option of opening a location in Europe. But we are in communication with potential European partners. I don’t rule out that this could be a step in Europe as well,» he summed up.
As for the general mission of Remo’s business, Yaroslav Prygara expresses his joy that Ukrainian ideas, designs, materials and solutions are successfully sold abroad. «I think this is where we should be moving and I hope we will succeed. In many ways, this is a kind of fundraising for our country, taking into account the events that are taking place. Because the best fundraising is when you naturally receive money from clients abroad and return it to Ukraine in the form of taxes and income for our people,» Yaroslav Prygara summed up the conversation with dev.ua.
