Ukrenergo has launched a mobile application where Ukrainians can receive information about the current situation in the energy system
The Ukrenergo mobile application has appeared in Ukraine, where Ukrainians can receive real-time information about the energy supply situation in each region of the country. What is the probability of power outages? Is there enough electricity to meet the needs of all consumers? Is there a need to limit the use of powerful electrical appliances? You can find answers to all these questions in the application.
The application was developed as part of cooperation between the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine and NPC Ukrenergo with the Danish Energy Agency. Its goal is to minimize electricity use by consumers during periods of limited supply in order to avoid emergency outages.
"One of the most effective tools for protecting the energy system is economical energy consumption. And here the Ukrainian people play an important role," said Lars Ogår, Minister of Climate, Energy and Utilities of Denmark.
The Ukrenergo application is a tool for stabilizing the energy system. It will inform citizens when there is a shortage. Then users can reduce their consumption. In this way, the number of power outages can be reduced and the energy system can be made more stable.
"For people, this is convenient in terms of understanding the current situation in the power system, and for us, it is the most efficient way of communicating directly with the consumer. This is important if there is a need to call on residents of a certain region or the country as a whole to turn off powerful electrical appliances to help the power system," said Vitaliy Zaychenko, member of the board of NPC Ukrenergo.
In addition, the application offers participation in surveys. This will help make the energy system more resilient to challenges.
