Ukrposhta and Nova Poshta raise prices for parcels to the US due to Trump's tariffs

Ukrainian postal operators Ukrposhta and Nova Poshta are raising the price of delivering parcels to the US due to the cancellation of the preferential duty-free threshold of $800.
As Liga.net reports, this privilege will cease to apply from August 29, 2025, in accordance with the decree of US President Donald Trump. After this date, all commercial shipments (except documents and gifts up to $100) to the US must pay customs duties. For Ukraine, the tariff is set at 10%.
It is noted that most European logistics companies have stopped deliveries or are only allowing documents or gifts due to these Trump tariffs. In contrast, Ukrainian postal operators will continue to deliver parcels, but are raising prices.
Ukrposhta’s tariffs for parcels to the USA will increase by an average of $1.5–3, depending on the category and weight of the shipment.
«Through incredible efforts, our international team, together with partners, working 24/7 over the past 7 days, was able to reach an agreement, and Ukrainian entrepreneurs will continue their business on US platforms — Amazon, Etsy, eBay, Shopify,» noted Ihor Smilyansky, head of Ukrposhta.
In his opinion, this situation gives competitive advantages to Ukrainian entrepreneurs.
Starting August 26, Nova Poshta will add 10% of the parcel cost (if the sender pays) or 10% of the parcel cost plus $25 for customs brokerage services (if the recipient pays) to the delivery cost.
