Svyrydenko noted that this applies to all citizens of the appropriate age.
«This decision also applies to citizens who, for various reasons, find themselves abroad. We want Ukrainians to maintain ties with Ukraine as much as possible. The changes will come into effect the day after the official publication of the resolution,» the Prime Minister explained the Government’s decision.
Earlier, the text of bill No. 13685 appeared on the Verkhovna Rada website, which proposes to allow men of non-conscription age, i.e. up to and including 24 years of age, to travel abroad. MP Oleksiy Honcharenko also initiated bill No. 57194, which proposes to abolish current restrictions for men aged 18 to 60 on traveling abroad.
According to the rector of Lviv Polytechnic University, Natalia Shakhovska, a travel permit for men under 22 will help retain Ukrainian youth.
«I think this is an important step to keep them in Ukraine. So that more and more of our students can participate in student exchange programs and advanced training. This is also about development,» Shakhovska noted in an interview with DOU.
Let us remind you that according to a recent survey, currently in Ukraine there are an equal number of IT specialists (48%) who are thinking about going abroad and who want to stay in the country.
