«For the next two years, we will focus on the further development of the „eCherga“ project, so that the process of crossing the border is predictable for all types of transport. We are talking about both commercial carriers and citizens crossing the border by private transport — everyone should be sure that there will be no queue in front of the checkpoint», — quotes the press service of the Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine — Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba.
He announced that the stage of the project will be the installation of automatic recording cameras at the entrance to checkpoints to minimize the possibility of passing vehicles not registered in the system.
It is also noted that the project will focus on automatic verification of information that should be available to the carrier.
Earlier, the ministry published a video guide on how to book a border crossing time in the eCherga system.
We will remind that the «eCherga» system became operational at checkpoints with Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Moldova in 2023 — initially for trucks.
In February of this year, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution that allows car drivers to use the electronic queue for crossing the border.
