The government exempted from taxation the re-importation of components for weapons manufacturers if, during the implementation of government contracts, these components were destroyed as a result of enemy strikes.
«The government has decided to exempt from payment of customs duties and VAT components that the manufacturer re-imports to fulfill state contracts. In this case, the company can import similar components in a volume not exceeding the destroyed ones, without VAT. These losses must be confirmed. Also, the rules for reporting to customs have been changed for such cases,» Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko said .
Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal, in turn, stated that the benefits will apply if the loss of components occurred before the end of the state contract.
«Executors of state contracts will provide the customer with a comprehensive list of documents confirming the occurrence of force majeure circumstances,» he added.
