In Ukraine, it is now possible to register for a place to live in a dormitory completely online through the «Diya» portal. The new service is designed to simplify bureaucratic procedures for students who are just starting their studies at universities and moving into dormitories.
This was reported by the Telegram channel «Actions». Now young people who have a taxpayer card and have signed a residence agreement can change their registration without queues and paper certificates. It is enough to log in to the portal, select the «Change of place of residence» service, indicate the educational institution and dormitory, and then sign the application with the Act.Signature or a qualified electronic signature (QES).
After the application is approved by the university’s authorized person, students will receive a notification about the payment of the administrative fee. All information is automatically transferred to the registration authority of the place of residence, and the status can be tracked in your personal account.
According to the Ministry of Digital Affairs, 23 Ukrainian universities have already joined the new system. The full list of institutions is available on the «Diya» portal in the corresponding section «Change of residence» .
Currently, only non-military students can use the online service. The development was implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Migration Service, and the State Enterprise «Dokument». The project was supported by the EGAP program, which is implemented by the Eastern Europe Foundation with funding from the Swiss government.
The new tool is part of the strategy for digitalizing administrative services, which the Ministry of Digital Affairs has been actively implementing in recent years. Online registration of dormitories should reduce the burden on students, facilitate the work of universities, and increase the transparency of all procedures.
