According to Downdetector, the wave of complaints began on the evening of November 7, and the peak fell at approximately 23:00 Kyiv time. On November 8, reports of problems continued. The service’s graphs show a jump in requests, and the map shows outages in a number of countries, including Ukraine. Most often, users report server connectivity, voice communication failures, and application «crashes».
Symptoms vary: for some users, the messenger does not send messages at all or does so with long delays, for others, photos and videos are not uploaded, and in some cases, calls are «dropped.» There has been no official public statement from Telegram as of the morning of November 8. Third-party monitoring services indicate local incidents without confirmation from the company.
If a message is stuck in the sending status, retrying or switching the network (Wi-Fi/mobile data) usually helps. Mass reinstalling the application in such incidents is not a panacea, because the problem lies on the service infrastructure side, not the user’s device.
In recent months, the messenger has experienced several local or global outages: third-party trackers have recorded short-term file failures, download failures, and problems with calls. Such incidents are usually associated with network congestion, updates, or individual regional traffic restrictions.
