A technological bet was launched under the president. Why was it created?
Ideas about creating a similar bet in public space have been circulating for over a year.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that the first meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's technological headquarters took place on December 13.
He explained that the technological stake is a special format for implementing innovations for defense with the participation of scientists and weapons manufacturers, developers of technological solutions for the Defense and Security Forces of Ukraine.
At the first meeting, they discussed the protection of Ukrainian skies from Russian air attacks.
"This was actually a founding meeting. Of course, all the necessary commanders and representatives of the army, intelligence, and security forces were present. Today we focused on the first, key task, namely, protecting the sky. This is countering the "shaheeds" and missiles," Zelenskyy noted.
The President noted that a "long and quite detailed" conversation on these issues had already taken place.
"There are already the first outlines of how we can further strengthen our defense. Specific solutions should be presented at the next technological stage," he added.
Recall that ideas for creating such a center have been circulating in the public space for more than a year. Thus, the head of the Victory Drones volunteer project, Maria Berlinska, said in December 2023 that Volodymyr Zelensky should take personal control of the development of military technologies.
"I spoke with most of the technology manufacturers in Ukraine, we all know each other. They say that if they were told "from above" to give the best engineers to some kind of "national team", no one would refuse. No one will ask for money for this, everyone understands what it is for. We are ready to help with this," said the veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
Since February 2024, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, has had a deputy for innovation. This position is held by Colonel Andriy Lebedenko. He believes that “ensuring technological superiority is one of the main directions of confronting the Russian aggressor.”
