Ukrposhta has started using an AI assistant to work with documents. Inside the company, it is called Marko — a reference to both the main postal symbol (stamp) and a popular male name. According to the postal operator, the AI assistant has already proven its effectiveness.
The AI assistant was developed by Ukrainian IT product company IT-Enterprise. In the first months of 2026, «Marco» has already processed over 26,000 documents.
According to the company, the time for processing routine documents has been reduced by 60–80%, and the error rate has dropped to 0,5%.
«Previously, the financial team manually processed hundreds of documents from suppliers, and this created a special load during closing periods. Today, the system automatically compares data with contracts and specifications, and specialists work primarily with documents where there are discrepancies. This not only saves us time, but also provides us with a higher level of control and transparency of the process,» notes Dmytro Didyk, Director of the Procurement Department of Ukrposhta JSC.
The main challenge of the project was not text recognition, but the diversity of incoming documentation. Due to the lack of a single standard among suppliers, the AI agent encounters hundreds of variations of structures and names (such as «garbage collection» instead of «waste disposal»). Therefore, the system works more deeply: it verifies data with contracts and specifications, and sends only those documents to specialists where discrepancies are detected.
