A Ukrainian IT professional has released an open source utility called Nova Parcel for macOS and Windows that allows you to track the status of Nova Poshta shipments directly from your desktop. The application updates data every five minutes and sends system notifications when the status of a parcel changes.

The author talked about the creation of the widget in his Telegram channel "Ooo Neuronet", and also published the source code and ready-made builds of the project on the GitHub service .
The reason for the development was the everyday context: after moving, the IT guy had to order a lot of things by mail, and it was inconvenient to regularly check his smartphone. According to the developer, a significant part of the program code was created by the GPT neural network using the Astra tool.
"Due to the move, I had to order a lot of things for my new apartment by mail, but I’m one of those people whose phone lives its own life and is regularly lying around somewhere. So, using Astra, I coded a simple widget for macOS and Windows that allows you to track what’s coming to you and when it will arrive. I coded GPT, I just came up with the rules and logic," the author shared.
From a technical point of view, Nova Parcel is a local experimental application without intermediate servers and analytics collection. Authorization occurs through the official Nova Poshta web cabinet in a WebKit window, and all parcel data is stored exclusively on the user’s device. The utility displays lists of incoming and outgoing shipments for the last three months, allows you to add TTN manually, and supports snapping the window over other programs.
Version 0.3.0 is currently available for download. The application supports Mac computers with Apple Silicon processors running macOS 14+, as well as PCs running Windows 10 and 11.
