The Defense Technology Innovation and Development Center is a military part of the Ministry of Defense, so working there means serving under a contract in Kyiv. However, the Center claims that work there is organized like in a product IT company: there are daily stand-ups, sprints, retrospectives, one-to-ones, and quarterly demos.
DELTA is a system that allows soldiers to see battlefield data, coordinate units, plan operations, and work with intelligence and targets. One reason the team is expanding is the system’s rapid growth. In the past year, the number of active users has tripled to more than 200,000.
In addition to DELTA, the team is developing Avengers, an AI platform for automatic detection of enemy targets, and Avengers Labs, a platform for training AI models on battlefield data. As well as UA DroneID, a technology that helps distinguish its drones and reduce the risk of friendly fire.
Previously, dev.ua wrote that the mobile version of DELTA has a "Radar" that warns the military about air threats.
