Competition for the best talent in the field of artificial intelligence is intensifying, which leads to the emergence of lucrative offers for relevant IT specialists.
According to a report by J. Thelander Consulting, a compensation data and private equity consulting firm, technology companies are offering huge bonuses of up to $200,000 to specialists with machine learning skills, Business Insider reports .
The report, which analyzed compensation at 153 companies, found that data scientists and analytics professionals with machine learning experience earn higher bonuses than software engineers with similar skills. However, there has also been a notable increase in bonuses for entry-level software engineers and analysts.
This trend is especially noticeable among startups: approximately 50% of companies paying such bonuses did not generate any revenue in the past year, and 71% did not make any profit.
"These small companies know they have to look attractive next to giants like Google, Meta or OpenAI," a representative from Thelander Consulting told Business Insider. "And for them, overpaying is the only trump card they have."
