25% of the publication remains with the founder, Kateryna Kobernyk, who will continue to hold the position of editor-in-chief. There are also no plans to change the team.
Oleksiy Babenko joined the company as an individual. He noted: “Strong and independent media is one of the foundations of a strong and independent state in which I want to live. Buying a stake in Babel is just the beginning. Together with the publication’s team, we will be able to change the landscape of Ukrainian media.”
The publication added that since September 2022, Babel has not attracted shareholder funds.
"The publication operates thanks to grants from international donors, advertising, and donations from the audience. Since the end of last year, the editorial office has been developing a community that supports the publication and individual projects," Babel noted.
Vyriy Industries is a large Ukrainian engineering company and a leading manufacturer of combat unmanned aerial vehicles (FPV drones), operating in the Military Tech sector. The company specializes in the development of kamikaze drones, repeaters, ground control stations, and implements AI-based guidance systems.
In December 2024, the company announced a 10-inch FPV drone fully localized in Ukraine . It received motors from Motor-G, a video transmitter from December1, and a Kurbas-256 thermal imaging camera from Odd Systems.
In 2025, the company introduced its first ground-based drone, Dzhankoi, which is equipped with Starlink communication and can carry up to six fiber-optic FPV drones for ambush operations.
