Deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine voted to appoint former head of the Ministry of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov to the position of Minister of Defense.
As reported by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak, 277 MPs voted for this. «The 4th Minister of Defense during a full-scale war,» Zheleznyak noted.
Fedorov was supposed to be appointed Minister of Defense yesterday, but the Verkhovna Rada failed to vote on the appointment of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal, who previously headed the Ministry of Defense, to the position. After that, it was decided to postpone the vote on personnel decisions to the next day.
Yesterday it also became known that Oleksandr Bornyakov may begin acting as Minister of Digital Transformation while the search for a replacement for Mykhailo Fedorov continues.
