«We want to get 60%+ of the target audience (adults who have a smartphone and consume content, conventionally — the Netflix audience). We aim to build a Netflix for vertical video streaming», the founders of Holywater said in an interview with High Bar Journal.
It was previously reported that FOX Entertainment has invested in Ukrainian vertical streaming platform Holywater. The partnership involves the co-production of about 200 new vertical series.
According to Nesvit and Kasyanov, these will be projects that have a strong script and drama, cinematic quality of filming, and a plot that is understandable to a global audience. The process will involve famous actors and producers who cooperate with FOX.
«The collaboration will involve the capabilities and expertise of the entire FOX Entertainment Studios portfolio — from Studio Ramsay Global to Bento Box Entertainment. World-class actors — Dennis Leary, Jon Hamm, Anna Weddingham, Josh Charles, Minnie Driver, Ken Jeong and others — will join the work. Adaptations for the vertical format, spinoffs, and additions to existing franchises — we will leave without comment for now, wait for updates,» the founders of Holywater indicated.
They said FOX’s investment will be in content, production, intellectual property and actors, while Holywater will handle scriptwriting, casting, marketing, distribution and analytics.
Holywater is a Ukrainian technology media company that creates «personalized worlds» for 20+ million users. The platform creates and publishes books, audiobooks, interactive stories, and video series for its own apps My Passion and My Drama.
Previously, Holywater and Vivat Publishing House announced the «WRITE» project and are looking for writers who are ready to «share their romantic texts» and get the opportunity to turn them into a digital book, interactive game plot, video series, or a real physical book in Ukraine.
