The International Consumer Electronics Show, or CES, is probably the most popular exhibition of new unusual gadgets in the world. These days, CES-2026 was just welcoming its visitors, and a number of media outlets have prepared their selections of the most «freakish» gadgets presented there. We share their conclusions.
ZDNet has highlighted the 7 strangest gadgets at CES 2026. Among them, in particular, the iPolish digital nail polish; the Lollipop Star lollipop that allows you to listen to music; the C-200 ultrasonic chef’s knife; the Vinabot AI-powered talking photo frame; the Glyde AI-based hair clipper and the Skwheel Peak S electric skis.
Yes, digital nail polish maker iPolish has introduced its product as «the world’s first color-changing digital nails.» They come in the form of self-adhesive nails that can be individually inserted into a small machine to instantly change color by choosing from over 400 shades in the app.
In turn, the Lollipop Star lollipop uses «bone conduction» technology. When the consumer sucks on this lollipop, he can hear a song. The company presents it as «the sensation of music that you can taste.» The correspondent of the publication noted that this is a rather interesting novelty, but it is intended for single use.
Meanwhile, the ultrasonic chef’s knife C-200 vibrates at a frequency of 30,000 times per second, which allows it to cut food more easily. At the same time, the person using it does not feel the vibration. After the test, the journalist of the publication admitted that cutting vegetables with such a knife is much easier. When the vibration mode is turned on, the food is less likely to stick to the blade.
Meanwhile, Vinabot’s AI photo frame has the ability to talk. You can upload not only a photo, but also a short script to create an AI video. Fundraising for this project will be launched on Kickstarter.
Another gadget is the Glyde AI hair clipper. The manufacturer Glyde claims that it is the world’s first smart hair clipper. Here you can choose your style from the app’s library, and the blade will be able to determine the speed, tilt and angle, and adjust the operation in real time.
Medical technology startup Vivoo has created a «smart» menstrual pad designed to detect a hormone, high levels of which can indicate ovarian failure, fertility problems or other medical conditions. The pads cost $4-5 each, but they display results on the back, which users can take a picture of using the Vivoo app to get more information.
The publication also came across an unusual hair dryer, which is essentially a lamp. From now on, the user can forget about the procedure of drying hair with a traditional hair dryer: instead, you simply turn on a lamp-shaped device above your head, which not only glows, but also dries your hair. Such a gadget was developed by the company Dreame and costs $700.
Meanwhile, the well-known company L’Oréal has introduced a creepy LED face mask that looks like another layer of skin, complete with red lights. They illuminate a pattern that looks like veins. L’Oréal claims that its face mask tightens and smoothes the skin with the help of a special light. The company plans to release such an LED mask in 2027.
Meanwhile, Tomorrow Doesn’t Matter (TDM) has released the Neo over-ear headphones, which can be transformed into a speaker by folding the flexible headband. The Neo headphones from TDM are being launched as part of a Kickstarter campaign, and the gadget itself will cost $249.
